Mwambao was registered in 2010 on Tanzania mainland and until recently we have operated in Zanzibar under a certificate of compliance.  Due to changes in the law we are not currently able to operate as an NGO in this way and thus in 2020 we registered separately as a not-for-profit company in Zanzibar as MCCC Ltd (Marine and Coastal Community Conservation Ltd Zanzibar).  

We are hopeful that we will be able to resume our original arrangement in the near future.  Our management and finance team are based in our Zanzibar office but our Tanga office is also registered as a head office.
